Jordan Williams is happy to be back in his home state of Texas doing what he loves most -- investigating and reporting on issues that impact the community.
Jordan joined KRGV CHANNEL 5 NEWS in early 2009 after two years anchoring and reporting at KOCO-TV in Oklahoma City. The Southeast Texas native also worked at KWES-TV in Midland. He started his career as a young college student working behind the scenes at KSAT-TV in San Antonio.
He has received four first place awards from the Texas Associated Press Broadcasters including best newscast, best anchor, and best reporter.
Jordan is particularly proud of an investigative report that exposed an undercover gambling operation at an Odessa business. Ultimately, his report prompted prosecutors to shut down the store. Williams also reported extensively on the Ector County School District's controversial high school Bible class. Those reports garnered him a School Bell Award from the Texas State Teachers Association.
Jordan grew up near Beaumont and attended college in San Antonio. He graduated with honors from Trinity University with a Bachelor of Arts in both communication and music. When he isn't reporting, you'll likely find Jordan sharing his love of music. He frequently plays the organ for churches of all denominations and occasionally even performs organ recitals.
